Oven Wizards are pleased to report that they are offsetting
their vehicle carbon emissions by planting trees both here in the UK and also
protecting trees in the Amazon Rainforest.
In 2020 over 95% of Oven Wizards Franchisees will be
offsetting the carbon emissions of the vehicles they drive whilst carrying out
their day to day business.
High levels of
carbon in our atmosphere are very damaging to our planet. Trees are a natural counter-balancing
force, absorbing carbon dioxide and putting out oxygen in its place. This helps
to reduce carbon levels in the air, and in doing so improve both the health of
the planet, and the health of all of us.
Rob Park, Oven Wizards North
Staffordshire said, ‘It's a great thing to be doing, helping the environment and
hopefully generating more business for us Wizards.’
Mark Abbott, Managing Director of Oven Wizards Franchising Limited
said, ‘We are delighted to be taking the lead on this, not only in terms of
oven cleaners but the Franchise sector as a whole. We have had our Carbon
Footprint assessed and we have now taken the first steps towards becoming
carbon neutral.
We are pleased to have been teamed up with Abbey
Park Middle School, Pershore,
Worcestershire for our first UK tree planting site.’
Nearly 200 trees have been planted this year, and further tree
planting will be carried out each year both here in the UK and in the Amazon
Rainforest. For each tCO2e offset one tree is planted in the UK and an
additional tCO2e is offset through the Brazilian Amazon Verified Carbon
Standard.
Dr Wendy Buckley of Carbon Footprint Ltd. said, ‘Oven Wizards have
taken a market leading and responsible step to compensate for the unavoidable
carbon emissions, helping to abate climate change and also supporting
biodiversity both here and in the Amazon Rainforest.’
