Oven Wizards’ Fanie van Zyl realises his investment!

Oven Wizards are pleased to report that one of their Franchisees has successfully realised his investment by selling his business.

Fanie van Zyl who owned and operated Oven Wizards Fleet and Farnborough said of his time with Oven Wizards

“I looked on several websites for an oven cleaning business and the first one I saw I went for an interview and demonstration. I was not very impressed with the explanation of the franchise and demonstration they gave me. I then made an appointment with Mark Abbott and John Graham at Oven Wizards and me and my wife went for an informal chat to see what the oven cleaning business was all about. We were very impressed from the start as they explained exactly to me what I could expect from an oven cleaning business. I would recommend if someone is buying a franchise you should make sure you meet the franchisors and get as much information as possible on what the franchise is all about.”

Fanie went on to say, “After the purchase of the Oven Wizards Franchise, I received my training and off I went, support was only a phone call away. My biggest challenge was to get fully booked and get good feedback from my customers. I was cleaning 3 ovens a day on a regular basis, which exceeded my expectations.”

With regards to the sale of his business Fanie said, “I decided to sell the business as we are moving back to Guernsey as my family and grandchildren are living there and we want to spend more time with them. The support from Mark and John from Oven Wizards was from day one very supportive. They helped me find my prospective buyer and they were only a phone call away when I needed any help.”

New Owner Mark Fitch is excited to put his stamp on the business, he says, “I’m looking forward to continuing Fanie’s hard work cleaning ovens in the Fleet and Farnborough Territory. I’m flat out at present, with lots of work, which is great for business and my fitness. A big thanks to Fanie for my initial training, I look forward to meeting other Wizards in the community next year.”

Christmas is coming and our Wizards are very busy!

It is looking like it’s going to be one of the busiest Decembers for Oven Wizards Franchisees. We are really pleased to report that most of our Franchisees are getting booked up for that pre-Christmas oven cleaning rush. Some of our more experienced Wizards had December booked up before the end of November and are now starting to take bookings for January 2019, which is great news.

It’s all been cooking at Oven Wizards Annual Conference.

Oven Wizards got together last month for their Annual Conference in Stratford-upon-Avon, with the theme for the day being “Be Happy…Be Social”.

The Annual Conference together with the Regional Meetings are a great Opportunity for Wizards to get together face to face to build relationships, share best practice and enjoy themselves in a relaxed atmosphere. The day included the business meeting in the afternoon and the social event with entertainment in the evening.

Clive Perrett who runs the Bristol North Territory said,” Many thanks to John and Mark for all the work you put in each year. The social side of the conference is improving rapidly. A great event, enjoyed by Pauline as well as myself.

Stephen Leaver, the Wizard in Tamworth said “Thanks for a great weekend, I got loads out of it. Fab Company, see you all next Year”

Subjects covered on the day included Operations, Sales and Service with the main focus being on Social Media, particularly Facebook with an engaging guest speaker.

Patrick Feerick from Bedfordshire said “Thank you both for this year’s conference. As always it was great to see you both and catch up on news from my “Fellow Wizards”. It was all most enjoyable and useful. both Jean and I enjoyed the meal, the evening and your hospitality immensely”.

Pippa Weir a new Wizard from Sheffield said, “Really enjoyed the day meeting and getting new ideas from more experienced fellow Wizards”

Oven Wizards are at the National Franchise Show at the NEC, Birmingham.

Oven Wizards are delighted to announce that they will be at the National Franchise Show at the NEC, Birmingham on Friday 5th and Saturday 6^th October 2018.

This year we are looking to expand our National Coverage still further, we want to find the right sort of people to add to our Oven Wizards community.

Rob Radford who visited the Franchise Show at the NEC two years ago commented on his reasons for joining Oven Wizards, “I really liked the business model in terms of the flexibility to manage my own diary around family commitments. The size of the territory offers me room for expansion to multi van in the future, without the need for more investment. I like the concept whereby we as franchisees deal directly with John and Mark on a daily basis rather than a team that work for them”.

Eighteen months on and Rob is now putting his second van on the road, he said “The timing is great, I should have my second van fully up and running in time for the busy pre-Christmas period”.

Oven Wizards launch two new Wizards in the same week, including Wizard number 60!

Oven Wizards had another successful launch at Notcutts Garden Centre last week with Andrew Campbell, their 60^th Franchisee. Andrew is now up and running in the South Nottingham Territory.

Andrew said “I am very happy with the results at my launch today, they were much better than I was expecting.”

 

The following day Oven Wizards launched Jonathan Gains in the Bury Territory.

Mark Abbott, Managing Director said “Jonathan has now completed his training programme and has launched his new business in the Bury area. He has already cleaned several ovens with great feedback. He was at a local Morrison’s with John where he raised his profile by giving out leaflets to potential customers and booking people in to have their oven cleaned.”

Oven Wizards, 2017, a magical year!

Oven Wizards had a magical year in 2017 in terms of business growth.

Business growth was up 16% in the last year, 2017, in terms of the numbers of ovens being cleaned by Oven Wizards Franchisees.

All Wizards who were due to renew their agreements in 2017 did so and there were plenty of new Wizards joining the community, from Ayr in the North to the New Forest in the South.

Warwick Bean, Oven Wizards Isle of Wight said “2017 was a good year for OW Isle of Wight, a significant increase on my first year”

David Wilkin, Oven Wizards Norwich said, “My Oven Wizards business is always growing and I’m still loving it. I feel very confident 2018 will be a very good year, so far so good, the numbers of bookings have gone mad, I am booked up a month in advance.”

Mark Abbott, Managing Director said,” 2017 was another great year for Oven Wizards, building on the success of the previous few years. Our first two new Wizards in 2018 are ladies which is great. We are thoroughly enjoying sharing our business ethos with all our franchisees and it is great to see them doing so well in their own territories.”
